On the opinion pages of The Wall Street Journal yesterday, Cyril Moulle-Berteaux, a hedge fund manager takes a bold stand by suggesting in this video, and rather convincingly I might add, that the Housing Crisis may be Over.
To summarize, homes on average are back to being as affordable as during the best of times in the 1990s. Numerous households that had been priced out of the market can now afford to get in.But even after reading this article, I was reluctant to think that home ownership would be affordable simply because the mortgage industry debacle has now forced anyone left in the business to tighten up their boot straps-making it even more difficult for buyers to qualify for loans, thus leaving the buyer pool extremely small. But then again, after watching this video, I am convinced otherwise when Berteaux makes a good argument that suggests there are plenty of buyers, and they are going to want their piece of the American Dream soon.

It’s not over. In fact, in soft market areas like So. Cal. we’ve got a ways to go. Expect even more foreclosures over the next few months. Unfortunately, those who wait for these rock-bottom prices will find themselves paying higher interest rates. So NOW is probably the best time to buy if you can find the right place for the right price. Waiting longer will just cost you more in interest!
